Conan the Barbarian is a 2011 American sword and sorcery film based on the eponymous character created by Robert E. Howard, and starring Jason Momoa as Conan. The film was directed by Marcus Nispel and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Sean Hood. Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, and Bob Sapp appear in supporting roles, while Morgan Freeman narrates the film. The story follows Conan, a barbarian warrior who was the sole survivor of his village's slaughter as a child, on his quest for vengeance against the warlord responsible for the massacre.
